Ready to learn how to sew but not sure where to start?

This is the perfect place to begin! Join us at Brightside for a fun, relaxed introduction to sewing where you’ll learn the basics while making a colourful string of fabric bunting to take home.

No sewing experience necessary. We’ll start with the very basics and walk you through everything you need to know to get comfortable at the sewing machine.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

• How to set up and use a sewing machine

• The basics of threading and winding a bobbin

• How to select the right stitch and adjust stitch length

• How to sew straight lines and turn corners

• Basic fabric cutting and preparation

• How to finish seams and create a neat, polished project

• Tips and tricks to help you feel more confident at the machine

And then you’ll put those new skills to work making your own fabric bunting!

Your workshop includes:

• All fabric and supplies needed to make your bunting

• Use of a sewing machine

• All tools and equipment

• Hands-on instruction and guidance

• A finished project to take home

This class is designed for complete beginners, so there’s no need to feel intimidated or worry that you’ll be the only person who doesn’t know what a bobbin is.
