It’s time to give your Christmas tree a handmade touch!
A beautiful tree skirt is the perfect finishing touch for your holiday decorating, and even better when you’ve made it yourself. Come spend two evenings sewing with us at Brightside and create a gorgeous scalloped Christmas tree skirt that you’ll bring out year after year.
Using the Madswick Scalloped Tree Skirt pattern, this hands-on sewing workshop will guide you through making your own festive tree skirt from start to finish. With its pretty scalloped edges and endless possibilities for fabric combinations, this is a chance to create something truly special for your home. You’ll learn new techniques, get plenty of one-on-one help, and hopefully have a few laughs along the way.
What we’ll cover:
Choosing fabrics and planning your colour combinations
Understanding the tree skirt pattern and cutting your fabric
Preparing and layering your fabric pieces
Sewing the tree skirt together step-by-step
Creating smooth, beautifully finished scalloped edges
Finishing your tree skirt for a polished, professional look
Tips and techniques you can use for future home sewing projects
Your workshop includes:
Fabric for your scalloped Christmas tree skirt
Hands-on instruction and guidance
Use of a sewing machine and studio equipment
Access to all the tools you’ll need
Plenty of troubleshooting and sewing support
Some sewing experience is recommended. If you’re comfortable using a sewing machine and ready to tackle a fun new project, we’ll help you create a handmade holiday heirloom.
All you need to bring is yourself and a water bottle. We’ll take care of the fabric, machines, tools and know-how.
Come spend some time sewing, hang out with fellow makers, and leave with a beautiful handmade tree skirt that makes your Christmas tree feel extra special.
