We understand that plans can change! To help us keep classes and studio time running smoothly, please review our cancellation policy below.
Open Studio
- Cancellations made 24 hours or more before your booking will receive a full refund or may be rescheduled.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your booking are non-refundable.
- If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to send someone else in your place. Please let us know their name before the session.
Workshops & Classes
- Cancellations made 7 days or more before the workshop will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations made 3–6 days before the workshop will receive store credit for the workshop fee.
- Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the workshop are non-refundable, as supplies have been prepared and your spot has been reserved.
- If you're unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person. Please contact us in advance so we can update the attendee information.
If Brightside Fabric Co needs to cancel or reschedule a class due to unforeseen circumstances or low enrollment, you'll be offered the choice of a full refund or a transfer to another session.

It’s time to wrap your gifts a little differently!
Say goodbye to mountains of wrapping paper and hello to handmade, reusable gift bags! These fabric gift bags are a fun, practical way to wrap your presents, and you can bring them out year after year. Come spend some time sewing with us at Brightside and make a collection of festive bags ready for the holiday season.
This is a hands-on sewing workshop where we’ll guide you through making your own reusable cloth gift bags from start to finish. Choose your favourite festive fabrics, learn some simple sewing techniques, and create something that’s as lovely to give as it is to receive. You’ll get plenty of one-on-one help and hopefully have a few laughs along the way.
What we’ll cover:
Choosing fabrics for your reusable gift bags
Cutting and preparing your fabric
Sewing bags in a variety of sizes
Creating neat seams and tidy finishes
Adding drawstring closures, ties or other finishing details
Tips for making durable bags that can be reused for years
Sewing techniques you can use for future handmade gifts
Your workshop includes:
Fabric for your reusable cloth gift bags
Hands-on instruction and guidance
Use of a sewing machine and studio equipment
Access to all the tools you’ll need
Plenty of troubleshooting and sewing support
No previous gift-bag-making experience required! If you can use a sewing machine, you’re ready to give this project a go. We’ll help you turn your favourite fabrics into beautiful gift bags that make wrapping presents a little more sustainable and a lot more fun.
All you need to bring is yourself and a water bottle. We’ll take care of the fabric, machines, tools and know-how.
Come spend some time sewing, hang out with fellow makers, and leave with a stash of reusable gift bags ready for all your holiday gifting. They’re perfect for Christmas, birthdays, and every celebration in between!
